Rick Ream, RN - AdministratorRick Ream, RN – Administrator

A 1987 graduate from the Mount Carmel School of Nursing whose main focus surrounds pediatric critical and at home care. His vast experience includes work at Columbus Children's Hospital, Georgetown University Hospital, Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children, and Kaiser Permanente located on Oahu. He is licensed to practice in Ohio, Washington D.C., Florida, Colorado, and Hawaii. Rick has earned certifications in the following areas:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support
  • Critical Care Certification from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses

 

Karl Ito Hussey, RN - Program Development CoordinatorKarl Ito Hussey, RN – Program Development Coordinator

A Salutatorian Graduate from the Kapiolani Community College School of Nursing and was also President of the Student Nurses Association at Kapiolani Community College. Karl also holds an Associates Degree in Applied Science in Administration of Justice and a Baccalaureate Degree in Sociology,

Karl is currently working as a Registered Float Nurse at Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Hospital with the skills to work in Pediatrics, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Maternity/mother-Baby, Orthopedics, Adult Medical-Surgical, and Skilled Nursing Facility Units.

Other experiences include pediatric and adult home care, nursing assessments for insurance companies, installing & de-installing medical equipment, medically fragile nurse for Oahu public schools, and special community projects including community based teaching, organization and participation in medical fairs, health screening, and administering immunizations.

Other training and certification(s) include:

  • Pediatrics Advanced Life Support Certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification
  • Telemetry training

Home care experience includes assisting in assessment and organization of clients to be discharged from medical facilities, hands-on nursing care for homebound clients, and supervisory visits for other field nurses and ancillary home care staff.

 

Suzy Shimabukuro, RN - Nursing CoordinatorSuzy Shimabukuro, RN – Nursing Director

Suzy is a 1986 graduate from the University of Hawaii's School of Nursing and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing two years later. She has worked for the Hawaii State Department of Education, the University of Hawaii's Western Curriculum Coordination Center, and Kaiser Permanente Medical Center located on Oahu. Her extensive resume includes experience with cataloging and writing synopses of materials, computer system design, data input, distributing regional vocational education materials, and nursing care of acutely and chronically ill patients. Suzy has earned the following:

  • State of Hawaii Nursing License, RN
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification

 

Chuck Ream - Office ManagerChuck Ream – Website Maintenance

Chuck is a retired Air Force veteran with over 26 years of computer and management experience. His strong general management-operations qualifications include: Strategic Planning, inventory/material management, project development and distribution.   He has been extremely effective in establishing creative client relationships based on creating an environment of mutual trust.

Jenni has extensive experience in diversified office settings and assignments, including Customer Service and account maintenance.  She has an Associate of Arts degree from the University of Hawaii, Leeward Community College, and is pursuing a Bachelor's degree to continue her education.  She is currently handling administrative duties for NJFK.
